Financial Reporting Team Manager – Remote
Description

SC Staffing & Consulting’s client is seeking a Financial Reporting Team Manager to support their clients’ financial reporting needs and supervise a team. Equity Compensation experience is a must.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Equity Compensation Valuation, Expensing, Financial Reporting, and Disclosures in accordance with ASC718 guidelines.
  • Assist clients in understanding reporting calculations and results, reconciling data, expense, and disclosures.
  • Support for Sales and Product Development.
  • Manage the equity compensation expense and valuation reporting alliances with vendors.
  • Interpret regulations and trends through independent analysis and in collaboration with industry leaders (e.g., FASB, accounting firms, and valuation consultants).
  • Responsible for system communication and roll out.
  • Create and manage team schedules; maintain timekeeping.
  • Manage quarterly reporting. Act as point of escalation and oversee any issues until resolved on a timely fashion.
  • Organize workflow and ensure that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks.
  • Set goals for performance and deadlines and communicate them to employees.
  • Conduct, monitor, and evaluate employee performance and provide constructive feedback, coaching and development, and new employee training.
  • Prepare and submit management reports.
  • Communicate importance of and ensure adherence to legal, regulatory and company policies and procedures and undertake disciplinary actions as needed.
Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher and 5+ years of Equity Compensation or Financial reporting.
  • Strong cross selling skill set and proven ability to influence without authority.
  • Highly experienced with stock option, restricted stock/unit and performance share plans and ESPPs (US Section 423 Plans/UK Share Save Plans/Canadian ESPP variations, i.e. RRSPs, TFSAs).
  • Experience managing a team.
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in accounting or CPA license, preferred.
  • Knowledge of Employee Plans systems and business, preferred.
  • CEP certification, preferred.
